Speed Rack Code of Conduct
Speed Rack is more than just a competition; it is a community that celebrates, uplifts, and supports women and non-binary bartenders while raising funds for breast cancer research and awareness. Our events bring together industry professionals, sponsors, volunteers, judges, attendees, and competitors in a shared mission of empowerment, education, and advocacy. We are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants, both in person and online.
This Code of Conduct serves as a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and respect at Speed Rack events and within our broader community.
Our Commitment to Inclusion and Respect Speed Rack is dedicated to providing a positive experience for everyone, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, or national origin. We respect and celebrate the unique attributes and perspectives that each person brings to our events.
Scope of Policy This policy applies to all individuals participating in Speed Rack events in any capacity, including but not limited to:
Competitors
Volunteers
Judges
Sponsors
Vendors
Attendees
Media Representatives
Speed Rack Staff and Organizers
Contractors
Activation Agencies & Event Companies
This policy extends to all Speed Rack-affiliated spaces, including event venues, accommodations, social gatherings, online forums, and social media platforms associated with Speed Rack.
Prohibited Conduct Speed Rack has a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, harassment, or misconduct of any kind. The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:
Harassment: Unwanted verbal, physical, or visual conduct that demeans, humiliates, or intimidates another person.
Discrimination: Unfair treatment based on race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
Intimidation: Any actions, threats, or behaviors that create an unsafe or hostile environment.
Sexual Harassment and Exploitation: Unwanted advances, inappropriate physical contact, or any non-consensual sexual behavior.
Unwelcome Physical Contact: Touching a person without their explicit consent.
Online Harassment: The use of digital platforms to threaten, demean, or spread harmful content about any member of the Speed Rack community.
Retaliation: Any adverse action taken against someone who reports misconduct or participates in an investigation.
Personal Boundaries & Power Dynamics Speed Rack recognizes that our community consists of individuals with varying levels of authority. We expect all participants to be mindful of power dynamics and to engage in behavior that promotes an inclusive and respectful environment.
Consent is key. Ask before engaging in any form of physical interaction.
Respect personal and professional boundaries. Be aware of how your words and actions affect others.
Use leadership roles to uplift others. Judges, sponsors, and organizers have a responsibility to foster positive interactions.
Alcohol and Substance Use Speed Rack celebrates the craft of bartending, and alcohol is naturally present at our events. However, we expect all community members to consume responsibly and in accordance with local laws.
Overconsumption leading to disruptive or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
The use of illegal substances at Speed Rack events is strictly prohibited.
Impairment due to alcohol or drugs does not excuse misconduct.
Reporting and Enforcement We encourage anyone who experiences or witnesses misconduct to report it immediately. Reports can be made confidentially to Speed Rack organizers or staff members on-site or via email.
If you feel unsafe, notify a Speed Rack team member as soon as possible.
Reports will be taken seriously and handled with discretion and respect.
Speed Rack reserves the right to remove anyone violating this policy from an event without a refund and may prohibit future participation.
